Fungia taiwanensis

Hoeksema and Dai, 1991



Description: Polyps are elongate and up to 280 millimetres long with irregular sides. They are thick and heavy and usually have a strong central arch. Most primary septa extend from the mouth to the perimeter. There are many secondary mouths.
Color: Brown, with white tentacles.
Habitat: Reef environments.
Abundance: Uncommon.
Similar Species: Fungia moluccensis, which has a smaller number of mouths and does not have white tentacles.
