Just bought Turbo Calcium from OG attempt to raise my calcium level. I do have a calcium reactor. Also in the process increasing my effluent and co2 bubble count.

Anyone who use Knop media found your reactor can't keep up with demand of your animals??? The manufacture of the reactor suggested using coral skeleton fragments as the media, but currently I am using the KNOP media(because I have a full bucketful of it) and it is dissolving.

I been using baking soda to keep my alk level.

I do add Magnesium too.

I also do add calcium hydrate in my top off water every other day, but doesn't looks like has any effect on my calcium level at all or just the demand is too great.

Just turn up the CO2 and drip rate for your calcium reactor?

doing that.....I will see if it can actually keep up.

I am not the expert but here are the parameters I try to hold my calcium reactor to. I keep the reactor flow at about 30-50 mls/min. I catch the reactor effluent in one of those little cups that comes on top of cough syrup or Nyquil type products and time the process using the second hand on my watch. Then I titrate the effluent alkalinity using a Salifert Alkalinity test kit. The effluent usually runs in the 20-35 dKH range. This keeps my tank alkalinity around 11-12 dKH. I log this data for future reference.

ThanksI will keep that in mind as I adjust my reactor
