Checking to see how much folks are paying monthly on electricity to keep your aquariums running?? Thanks in advance...

I've found that this is a hard number to truly provide because if you have other high electrical use items going on and end up going into higher electrical use bracket it throws off the true cost of just the tank. From the equipment I have running right now on my 240 it should be around the $100 mark

There was a guy that spoke at MAX on power, I can't remember his name. He and I figured out what my equipment runs and he had an average kwh price for San Diego. (He lives here) I think it was like .24 per kwh. We calculated that my tank, closed loop, chiller, and all, was about $65 a month. I can't really tell with my SDG&E bill because I have had a tank up for so long. One of the cool things on this new Reefkeeper Elite is it will graph and meter the curreent draw running through the PC4 power strips.

From not having a tank, to setting up a tank my electric bill went up $30-$35 max. And that was with my 90gal

are u serious?? what kind of tank u had?? 600 per month is crazy... my rent is 750 per month ahahah

my 120g and 29g is about $60 a month.

Well, he had a lot of tanks set up, holding and propagation tanks
