Very interesting article. Do you have any Levasole remaining from your treatment? I'm looking to treat a 60 gallon tank that has a moderate flatworm infestation.

I haven't done my treatment yet, going to manually syphon as many over the next several weeks before doing any treatments so that I hopefully don't encounter as damage due to toxins from the flat worm die off. I will most likely have some left and will let you know.

Hey Christina, I finally got around to doing my first treatment, however, I chose to use flatworm control by blue life instead of the levasol. More posts have been made to that RC thread with some nasty results so I'm going to leave that treatment to the last resort.

The process I did was siphon out as many of the little buggers as possible with some rigid airline tubing. I tied a micron bag to the end to catch them and put that in my sump. After getting a good amount, I starting dosing the flatworm control. It says to use 2 drops per every 10g. I have a 240g tank with about 70g of sump water but figure with all the rock it probably comes out to around 240g of actual water. I started with about 50 drops but didn't see much results so continued to add 10 drops at a time. The water gets cloudy and you continue to have your skimmer and media reactors running (carbon and gfo). I had my g/f helping me and once we started seeing some of the flatworms flying around the tank, I started siphoning water for the water change and using the big pylon siphon to get more of the buggers.

I ended up doing about a 60g water change. We used the pylon siphon to get into the sandbed which produced good results. I never saw any of the flatworms explode and there still seems like quite a few survived or are at least still stuck to some of my rocks further in the back. I'll get a better look tonight at the results and most likely will need to continue additional treatments. You are not supposed to re-dose for at least 24 hours so I'll wait at least till Wednesday before going another round.

Depending on the results from the fwc, if I continue to have the issue I will most likely move forward with the levasol treatment. I didn't notice any issues with my fish or inverts during the dose. My clam did one gasp motion that I noticed but it could have been do to our hands moving in the tank. The snails did seem a little stunned for a bit but nothing dramatic. Supposedly FWC is 5x stronger than FW Exit.
