Dear Club members,

I am happy to announce that we have a new surprise for you for Marine Aquarium Expo.

As you already know, we are providing your club with a complimentary 10'x10' booth for MAX

What you didn't know is that I've been secretly searching for some way to provide each and every one of your booths with a loaner frag tank for your club to use for FREE.

As you can imagine, purchasing 12 of ANYTHING is a major investment. Well, when we got to "lighting" we hit a brick wall. I wasn't going to proceed unless we could do this project right and in my mind metal halide was the only "quality" option, but the cost of acquiring multiple pendants, ballasts, bulbs, and something to hang them from was just too cost prohibitive.

Until Today

After propositioning multiple manufacturers, AquaticLife Inc. has agreed to sponsor the show with a dozen of their "Swing Arm 150-watt MH light fixtures"
http://www.aquaticlife.com/swingarm/index.html (http://www.aquaticlife.com/swingarm/index.html)

(please note that these are "loaners", NOT "take-homers" LOL, sorry, no way I could pull that one off)

So, you can now count on the following equipment will be ready and waiting for your use April 3-5, 2009.

- 24"x24"x8" rimless acrylic tank
- Custom base w/aluminum trim
- 150-watt swing-arm MH light fixture

- HOB nano filter and skimmer
- Removable eggcrate bottom
- 100-watt heater
- Saltwater provided by Ocean in Motion
- other minor accessories

I truly hope this helps, especially for the out-of-state clubs who have to ship everything; which was my main motivation. Anyhow, all we ask in return is for you to help spread the word for Marine Aquarium Expo. Please, help Distribute postcards and/or talk about us in public forums. The more successful the show is the more things we can do for your club...its a win-win situation!

thank you for your help and participation in Marine Aquarium Expo. This is truly going to be a monumental experience for everybody!
We look forward to seeing all of you this April!

Sincerely,

Hi guys,
I am posting this e-mail on behalf of Adams Blundell (one of our speakers for MAX). This is meant for all club members who are participating in Marine Aquarium Expo. If we get enough interest, this may very well turn into something even bigger than Adam has intended. Stay tuned:

Hi Everyone
(Hi Adam)

For those who don't know me, my name is Adam and I'm the president of the aquarium club in utah (http://www.UtahReefs.com (http://www.utahreefs.com/)).
My club may or may not have a booth at MAX. We're still debating. But either way our club members would love to meet up with all of you.
So I'm proposing we have an aquarium club get-together night.
I'm thinking we get a conference room at one of the hotels and we all invite our club members to attend. Maybe order pizza or icecream or something like that??? Maybe Sunday night after the show? I realize some of you may have 50 club members showing, and others may have 5 members. But I think it could be a ton of fun (and very educational for the club presidents) to all get together. I'd love to have an evening hearing what works well for all of you.

I belive I'm getting this email to all the clubs attending MAX, my apologies if I missed someone.

Please share your thoughts!

Adam

Hello fellow club members,

Its about that time, Marine Aquarium Expo is only 3 weeks away!

As such, I need a Holler out from each of you in regards to your booth.

1) CONFIRM that you are going to be there so we don't have any empty booths sitting around

2) EXPLAIN briefly what/how you are going to exhibit, what is provide for our attendees, or in a nutshell: what is going to attract people to your booth?

3) INFORM us that you are bringing livestock to sell so that we can set up your club frag tank prior to your arrival. Remember, we are providing free rental of a brand new 24"x24" frag tank complete with filtration, heater, controller, and 150-watt Metal Halide lighting! We even provide the saltwater...you show up and throw your corals in the water...its simple as that. In any case, we need to confirm that the tank is needed if you want us to set it up for you or not. Also, if you are bringing additional display tanks and need saltwater, please let us know how many gallons.

4) Provide us a list of names for exhibitor's badges. Each club booth is allocated three (3) badges for free and each additional is only $25 each (good for entire weekend/all three days)
You may pay for additional badge via Paypal to: quidproquo820@aol.com (quidproquo820@aol.com)

5) If anyone wishes to take turns instructing kids at the touch tank, please let us know so we can coordinate efforts with the 4-H club. As a matter of fact, if anyone has any particular idea, talent, or other ability that can help make the Marine Aquarium Expo even better, PLEASE LET US KNOW.

6) We are in the process of looking for audio-video equipment for the show. (our previous contact is no longer available) so if any of you have access to a professional LCD projector (3,000 lumens or more), or a professional PA system, etc, please let us know ASAP before we have to rent the equipment and waste money that we could be spending on YOU. The more we save, the more "goodies" we get to buy for the show! For instance, all that food and drink we provided last year came right out of our own pocket.

7) MOST IMPORTANT!
PLEASE help spread the word about the MAX show over these crucial few weeks before the show!
Of all the money and resources we commit to supporting the club booths (TEN this year!) this is really the only thing we ask in return.
PLEASE, TALK ABOUT US (hopefully its positive, LOL)

So, please respond and let us know the answers to the questions above

Tammy and I appreciate your involvement with the Marine Aquarium Expo
We look forward to seeing all of you in a few short weeks!

best regards,
