Group Order

I know I need 2 T5 bulbs for sure.

Let's start putting the list together.

How many people planing on changing their bulb in the next few month???

it can be other item too, I am just hopping to get a big enough order together, so those people will continue to support the club.

Don't tell me you guys don't enjoy being able to ruffle for those nice things we got at last meeting.

If we don't do something, this club won't go any where.

My T-5 bulbs are only six months old, but I could probably use some spares....

I wasn't at the last meeting... How does this work? How do I find the price/ product list/ where do we send the money etc

First we have to put together a list of what we want and then they will get back to us with pricing .... but it has to be a decent size list. Chap the bulbs you are looking for they have ....... sign you up ???? The list will grow ....... as with Bulk orders the price goes down ..... as the order gets bigger ........

Here are a few suggestions that might get more people interested:

1. If you provided us the name of an online website, such as Marinedepot or customaquatic.... that people could use to figure out what they wanted (and an approximate price for their items)... that might be helpful to get a specific list of items/ starting point for people that might want to place an order. Otherwise it will probably be too wide open... even with T5 bulbs, there are several different color temperature combinations, then variances by manufacturer; (GE vs ATI vs ????) and even different lengths of bulbs.
3. If we are going to have someone to pick up the order, that will save shipping $$$.... even if we don't get a further discount, that should be incentive for club members to investigate purchasing the bulbs through a group buy.
4. Do you have emails of everyone in SDMAS? If so, it might be more effective to send out an email reminder. Not everyone has visited this thread...
5. How about additives? Kalk, two part additives, Mg... bags of salt.... I don't need those things personally right now, but I think most people probably will either need them soon or don't mind stockpiling them....

When is this order taking place? I need to replace one of my 250's very soon. I just found a reciept for my current bulb and discovered that it is OOOOOOLD, and my corals are starting to look unhappy.

ratherbediving ; as stated above your post we are trying to get a list together by having everyone submmiting a list of what bulbs they want, we can then send it to the vendor and he will brake down the prices and send it back to us to see if we want to do the order. I cannot give you prices if we haven't even got a list ....... i understand that 1 vendor may not be able carry all of our bulbs we request, but we can't even get the request list together to see.

ratherbediving, That part is already covered. If you want an idea of vendors the 2 that you had named are fine for a reference on the items you are interested in buying, just send the info. forward to Flamehawk.

ratherbediving , Yes, we have 2 lists/ 3 lists that this post went to.
The other items are contengent on us putting the bulb order together first, but i will check back and see if we can swing that as an alternative to the Bulb order...........

I need to replace my middle halide over the 180,...pulled some reciepts on Tues, and found out that it was a YEAR old ! Granted, it has been on the Icecap, so it hasn't been overdriven, but Valida is starting to brown out a little,...and the light has a weird cast to it.

RED ALERT !!! :) I just wanted to replace it with a Ushio. If the group order is going to take a while, maybe I could find a loaner that isn't a year old until the order goes through.
