SCMAS Reef- A - Palooza

August 20th - Reef-A-Palooza II
SCMAS's big Frag Event is scheduled this year for August 20th. The event is open to all and costs nothing except for any raffle tickets you may want to buy!

I hope lots of San Diego reefers can make it up to see Bob Fenner and swap a few corals. Vendors, manufacturers, LFS's, etc. are welcome at this event.

12:00 - Doors open
12:30 - Softie coral fragging and mounting demonstration and workshop. Attendees are encouraged to bring their established corals they wish to frag; tools will be provided.
1:30 - Bob Fenner's slide show and presentation
3:30 - Raffle drawing!
5:00 - Clean up and take your new frags home.

BBQ and drinks are provided courtesy of SCMAS.

How did this event turn out?

Got there around 2o'clock there were quite a few people there, talked to someone who had been there all day they said a lot of people had come through earlier on ( i guess to check out the live stock ) but they didn't stay for the whole thing, a lot of people had to go to other things but i saw Greg Carroll had some nice Frags for sale , Platinum Reef was set-up there, Ecosystems was set-up there, Garrett's Acropolis had a booth ( with some nice Acro's ) SoCal Creations had a booth (nice Acrylic work ) Passion of the Sea Aquarium had a booth and some nice livestock ( had an Acan for 65.00 bucks) 10- 15 heads on it. And Last but not least our own CHIN MONSTER had a booth with some REALLY NICE STUFF !!!!! Ask anyone who has bought from him ( NICE STUFF :eek: ) Didn't go last year but some said the numbers in attendance were a little lower than last years event ( the 2 clubs had a lot going on SCMAS's meeting on friday night, swap Saturday, the MASLAC Club's Tank Tour was Sunday so a lot of people got spreaded out pretty thin so i could see why it was a little lower .......... Missed the Mandarin presentation / Bob Fenners presentation was very Informative and Entertaining as always !!!!! And a lot of nice Raffle prizes were given out
i think the person who won the most was the guy who bought about 100+ tickets ( he kept going up there to pick-upsomething else he won :eek: )
I had a good time seeing everyone who i had't seen for a while !!!!!
