Did we miss the Dec meeting? Anyone know when it is/was?

We had the December party at Bob Fenner's house, but no other meeting this month. Our January meeting on the 14th at Pet Kingdom will be here in no time, though :D

Wasnt there something about a bonfire that all were invited to? Since Fenners was limited?

we ended up canceling the bonfire due to time constraints with the holidays. also, we also expected a much larger crowd to try to get to Bob's place, so we wanted to make sure if anyone was left out we would get them a party too. since there was not a huge rush for the holiday party, we canceled the bonfire.

Was this announced or? I do think there is a responsibility to a membership to let them know what is happening event wise. :whip: The way it was announced that it was going to happen I thought it was all in the plans.

Yikes! Sorry Larry if we made it sound like an official announcement :o :( . However, AFAIK, we announced nothing more than a plan to have one. I agree about keeping all members in the loop. We also like to have input from all members. Judging by the input and response from the Fenner party alone, we felt it would be irresposible to do a bonfire, spend club money, and have very little turnout. In hindsight, with the weather we had in December, I'm actually really glad we didn't go through with it

So, I guess the question is, do we mention ideas of not-set-in-stone plans/events to get input, and risk people thinking they are a sure thing, as you did in this case, or not mention anything until it is a 100% certainty?

Opinions welcome.....

I think our SDR post made it sound like it was going to happen, sorry Larry. It would have been slated for last weekend which would have been rained out so in hindsight...no harm, no foul.

I think future announcements just need to be worded more carefully so we don't make the same mistake twice.

Just a though be if we have open discussion here in the members only lounge, and then post official 100% sure things on SDR. This would also lead to less confusion. to non members or perspective membership.

I have no real complaint for myself. I kinda figured such was as is.... My concerd was fo those who may have put off the one party to participate in the other.
Proper wording may help in the future, or to my original point, if the board changes plans that were made in the public forum someone needs to come forward with the change in the same forum.
