Not sure how many of you guys (or gals) run a Dolphin 2100 ext pump. Picked up a back up from Marine Depot last week. Come to find out that Dolphin re-engineered the wet end. They now come with a 2" input and output wet end! Although they do ship them with a 1.5" reducer union. Does me no good since my hard plumbing is all made up of 1.5" pvc. Dolphin did send me a 1.5" wet end that I was able to swap out.

This problem should only affect those who have hard plumbed the 2100 with a current set up and are looking to have a backup pump just in case of a failure. It should not be a problem if you are setting up a new system.

Hello Reefer;
How long have you been running a dolphin nonstop and did you have to change out the seal because of leaking ????? Or has it been no problems at all ??????

Thanks :) for the heads up.

Stag-Sorry for taking so long to reply. I just realized that you posted a question.

The pump had only been running for 2 months max (non-stop). Dolphin was pretty good customer service wise. They basically just replaced the seal. I currently have the back up pump running now. Which means, the first pump is now the backup pump. So far-so good.
